Hidden Oaks
Llama Ranch,
now
offers high quality 100% llama fiber ~ all natural colors!
It can be purchased raw, which is
sheared straight from the llama
(you must notify us prior to March 1st each Spring if interested in this).
To purchase raw fleece, the cost is $15 for 1 pound, $25 for 2 pounds
and $35 for 3 pounds. You can also purchase it after it's processed,
as roving or yarn.
When choosing the fiber that will be processed into roving or yarn,
it's
taken only from the full blanket or prime area. It's heavily skirted,
so no leg or belly fiber is included and the llamas are blown out prior
to
shearing, so there is very little debris. We only choose the
finest
fibered llamas, so there is minimal guard hair,
if any. It's extremely
soft, fine and lustrous!
COMING SOON! We will be offering our premium fleece, that has been
shown in competition and have won numerous awards....see below.
This will be available as yarn.
Any coarse fiber is kept for
felting projects....this too is available upon request.

At the 2008 Grand Nationals, there were 101 total fleeces
entered and 7 classes.
Our farm submitted 8 fleeces, with 7 placing in the Top
10.....YIPPEE!!!
Of the 4 classes
we entered, 3 fleeces took 1st Place, with 1 going
on to get GRAND CHAMPION &
BEST OF SHOW (single coat fleece)!!!
1 fleece received 4th, another received 7th and
2 fleeces received
9th.
It's been an AWESOME year! We feel so honored!
